We're seeking a talented and passionate Software Development Engineer II to join our Robotic Storage Tech (RST) organization. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions that power Amazon's next-generation robotic workcells.


Key job responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex and high availability software systems
- Work closely with developers, hardware engineers, data scientists, and other cross-functional team members
- Develop innovative solutions to challenging problems in robotic workcell technology
- Establish best practices to raise the bar for our products


A day in the life
As a SDE II in the RST software organization, you will own software applications and systems that enable human and robotic fulfillment at scale. On a typical day in this role you will work alongside other developers in order to lead design and development efforts spanning multiple software and hardware teams. Working backwards from customer needs, you will identify the right technologies to achieve high customer experience standards. You will coach and mentor other engineers to foster a culture of growth and will partner cross-functionally to develop pioneering applications in a highly exciting and innovative environment.

About the team
As a Software Development Engineer on Robotic Storage Technologies (RST) solutions, you will be part of an exciting and diverse team that is responsible for developing and deploying full-stack software systems using AWS that are scalable, reliable and performant. Our solutions are intuitive, inclusive, accessible, and customer-obsessed at the core.

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
