The Position:
This role will lead our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function for AWS’s worldwide Data Center Finance team. In this role you will lead a team of talented professionals by providing clarity of direction and support to the decentralized field finance organization. This leader will build the infrastructure and establish the pace for the finance team to ensure we are delivering actionable insights in a timely manner. You will drive overall planning, reporting and financial analysis to identify and improve business processes and deliver scalable systems and automation.
This role will be a key leader, supporting the AWS Data Center Finance director in consolidating global results and leading the central financial planning and analysis function. As owner of the Global financial performance, the individual will be responsible for continuous improvement in measuring, monitoring, and influencing total cost performance and headcount productivity. The FP&A team is responsible for managing the financial rhythm of the business, including the annual operating plan, long range plan, regular forecast process, and for providing analytical support to senior management. You will help establish the pace of the finance team to ensure it delivers actionable insights in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader and manager who is decisive, action-oriented, and able to motivate, inspire, and lead cross-functional teams. The right candidate is an expert in process design and continuous improvement, and is unapologetic about having extremely high standards for quality of work. In addition, this person must have the ability to think strategically and act tactically at the same time, have a proven record of delivering process-related projects with measurable results, and possess strong written and oral communication skills.
In this role, you and your team will:
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities
• Program manage our financial planning processes.
• Streamline processes and lead improvement projects.
• Report monthly financials and operating metrics to AWS and Finance Leadership.
• Develop the right metrics to measure process quality and productivity, providing meaningful feedback to the technology and business teams.
Key job responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
• Serve as the key business partner working directly with AWS region’s finance team, senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations. You must have the ability to set direction, hold others accountable to tight timelines, perform analysis, and present to senior executives. Manage and coordinate capital spend reporting, tracking KPI’s, and performing variance analysis.
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical and process constraints.
• Lead a team to deliver high quality insights to inform decisions making.
• Be a thought leader to improve and simplify processes, drive standardization, and build scalable systems to support business growth.
• Ensure compliance with controls and systems, and developing new processes to support the fast-growing, global AWS business.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
