Data Scientist II, Brand Experience
DESCRIPTION
The Brand Experience (BX) organization creates, builds and leads innovation for Brand Owners in the Amazon store worldwide. Our growing portfolio of BX tools enable Brands to tell their unique Brand and product stories, optimize content through statistical experimentation, solicit and manage reviews to earn Customer trust and grow their business, as well as engage with new and loyal Customers through a variety of channels.
We are looking for a Data Scientist to lead us to identify data-driven insight and opportunities to improve Brands’ success. As a successful Data Scientist on our team, you will solve complex problems to identify actionable opportunities, and collaborate with engineering, research, and business teams for future innovation. You need to be a sophisticated user and builder of statistical and machine learning models to answer specific business questions. You are an expert at synthesizing and communicating insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.
Key job responsibilities
* Build, validate, and scale analytic solutions using state of the art tools based on large datasets
* Conduct statistical/machine learning analyses, or design experiments to measure the value of the business and its many features
* Partner closely with Business, Finance, Science, and Tech partners from ideation to implementation of production solutions
* Independently identify new opportunities for leveraging economic insights and models that drive a better understanding of the Brand Experience business
* Write both technical white papers and business-facing documents to clearly explain complex technical concepts to partner teams and leaders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of data scientist experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
- Knowledge of relevant statistical measures such as confidence intervals, significance of error measurements, development and evaluation data sets, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
