About Coalville
What's good to know
Coalville is a wonderful English market town based in the Charnwood area of Leicestershire, which lies close to Junction 22 of the M1 motorway. One of the most notable attractions in the area is Bardon Hill, which at 912 feet (278 m) above sea level, is the highest point in Leicestershire and a delight for hill walking enthusiasts.
Great transport links keep Coalville well connected to its neighbours and the rest of the country, with Leicester city centre only 20 minutes away and the cities of Birmingham and Nottingham reachable within an hour.
As its name suggests, Coalville was originally a coal mining town, which was established during the industrial revolution.
