The name “Kindle” comes from an Old Norse word “kyndill”, which means candle. The French writer, philosopher and historian Voltaire once wrote: 'The instruction we find in books is like fire. In 2007, Amazon first introduced Kindle to the market. At the time, we offered 90,000 eBooks and sold out 5.5 hours after launch.
