DESCRIPTION

Are you seeking an environment where you can learn new skills, work with scientists and help influence the future of finance? Our team combines machine learning, forecasting, economics and Large Language Models to help solve problems within finance and help provide automation where problems become ambiguous. We spend our days diving into data and working with external parters to automate process to help our financial partners better perform their roles.

This role is for data scientists looking to grow their skills in all aspects of the modeling lifecycle. The role will begin by helping support currently launched models to provide instant impact for the team, including new updates or requests to those models, and transition into taking on new projects to support forecasting, anomaly detection and document understanding spaces.


Key job responsibilities
- Train and update models with more recent data supporting the anomaly, forecasting and document understanding space. Create new ideas or approaches to modeling and test those to keep pushing our team’s performance capabilities.
- Collaborating with data scientists, software design engineers, data engineers, business intelligence engineers and business stakeholders to help deliver and maintain modeling projects
- Work closely with our product team to help perform Exploratory Data Analysis and help define what the scope and objective of our projects should look like
- Performing data and statistical analysis on oddities in data to help provide high data quality within our modeling ecosystems

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, or equivalent)
- Experience as a data/research scientist, statistician or quantitative analyst in an internet-based company with complex and big data sources
- Knowledge of machine learning and forecasting models
- Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science, or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of professional or military experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with financial data and performing forecasting, anomaly detection or data analysis
- Knowledge of AWS infrastructure and tools such as Sagemaker Notebooks and QuickSight

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $97,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
