The FinTech Business Operations (BizOps) team is looking for a Financial Analyst to play a significant role in supporting our organization initiatives. BizOps is responsible for ensuring organizational success and defining the metrics to measure efficiency. This role will partner closely with other finance partners, program managers, our leadership team, and diverse engineering teams to improve the rhythm of the business.

FinTech is continuing to grow globally. Our team builds technology solutions and services that enable Amazon’s new business growth through automation and self-service, while ensuring controllership, compliance with laws and regulations, security, reliability, and scalability. We are in the unique position to look across Amazon Finance & Global Business Services (FGBS), AWS, and Amazon Subsidiaries (Audible, Souq, Studios, Twitch, Whole Foods, etc.) to provide integrated solutions that satisfy the needs of multiple teams at once. Through our products, we aim to provide Amazon competitive advantage for running its business and insights for our customers using the best technologies.

Preferred location Seattle, WA. Will consider other US Amazon corporate office locations such as Arlington, WA and Jersey City, NJ. Location flexibility dependent on candidate experience and proximity to key stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
- Create effective business partnerships, manage competing priorities, and use financial data to drive culture change to the organization.
- Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial frameworks, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders.
- Analyze complex financial data and provide accurate and timely reports to key stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Responsible for planning, forecasting, and reporting of monthly/quarterly financials utilizing financial systems and advanced excel functions.
- Improve finance processes, scale existing solutions, create new solutions as required based on stakeholder needs.
- Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs. Make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where the data may be scarce or difficult to procure.

You will be essential to the success of the organization and will join a supportive team with aligned priorities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Advanced experience working with Microsoft Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
