Amazon Advertising operates at the intersection of eCommerce and advertising, offering a rich array of digital display and search advertising solutions with the goal of helping our customers find and discover anything they want to buy. We help advertisers reach Amazon customers on Amazon.com, across our other owned and operated sites, on other high-quality sites across the web, and on millions of Kindles, tablets, and mobile devices.

Amazon Advertising is seeking a ‘builder’ who will be responsible for developing and executing a bold and innovative vision that delights our advertisers and partners by maximizing the return on their marketing investment and helping them grow their businesses. The organization covers all Amazon Ads products, such as Sponsored Ads, Video and STV, Display, Device Advertising and more. Internally, this role will partner closely across a number of teams, including Amazon Ad Sales, Amazon Consumer, AWS, Twitch, Product, Creative, Ad Tech, and more. Externally, this individual will represent Amazon and support joint business planning with large advertisers and partners, and be an active participant at trade events. You will have deep connections across the industry at the C-Suite and across the advertising agency landscape.

An extensive career as an executive in the advertising Industry will make a successful transition as a Director of Large Client Development. Reporting to Amazon Ads China country leader, you will be comfortable with ambiguity and will lead and innovate towards the future, defining the vision for the business and investment areas. Will lead the organization to be strategic advisors, providing customer insights that drive measurable business outcomes and growth with clients. You will leverage experience and high-judgment to provide local insights and execute global organizational strategy, organizational design, processes, tools, and incentives to maximize ROI and accelerate growth. This individual will invent on behalf of customers, drive execution of strategy, ensuring that the organization is consistently delivering measurable results in advertiser satisfaction, adoption of Amazon Ads, renewal rates and other operational quality metrics. This individual will partner closely with Amazon leadership to support Global goals and strategies.

The preferred locations for this role are Shanghai, Beijing or Shenzhen.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1) Build a high-performance team, raise the bar on talent acquisition, performance measurement, and career growth.
o Attract, hire and retain top sales support talents and brand marketing media solution support experts to form a best-in-class digital advertising organization.
o Provide exceptional mentoring and coaching to develop your direct reports and the broader Ads team.
o Elevate the team's skill sets and continuously build a deep bench of talent across the vertical.
o Define clear, measurable input metrics and tactical action plans to drive staff performance.
o Serve as the main point of contact for key brand marketing, digital media, and marketing executives in China.
o Lead the CN team to support in promoting advertising solution for advertisers and customers.

2) As supporting owner of the business, owns client segmentation, go-to-market, resource planning, and deliver eventual business results.
o Determine short- and long-term coverage plans per property, vertical, account, territory, and AE.
o Develop a comprehensive account and agency coverage strategy for China’s global brands and export industry to accelerate Amazon Advertising product knowledge enablement.
o Build and manage a detailed engagement strategy for Fortune 500 type clients. Build upon prior success in this area to continue to grow this opportunity.
o Drive the commercial management process as well as play a hands-on role in identifying leads and opening doors for the commercial organization.
o Identify scalable opportunities with both internal partnership with Retail and AWS, and external partnerships to expand our Service Addressable Market size.
o Provide visionary leadership to elevate the larger organization of Amazon Advertising in China for continued success.
o Partner brands and support all advertiser education initiatives that will help their advertising on Amazon.

3) Serve as Amazon’s Advertising Industry Ambassador
o Represent Amazon Ads as a visionary thought leader at high-profile industry conferences, trade publications, and other influential platforms.
o Participate in strategic meetings with senior executives to help set program direction and priorities.

4) Drive product innovation and expansion
o Develop a deep and thorough understanding of customer and industry trends to ensure Amazon continues to provide a powerful, differentiated advertising value proposition.
o Partner closely with product development to prioritize and build innovative new advertising products to provide a truly better and differentiated advertising business for our customers.
o Assess potential acquisition or partner targets to expand the program’s reach and scope.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of managing internal and external relationships and building high performance teams, hiring and developing the best talent.
- Proven records of delivering commercial results from B2B companies that delivers complex enterprise-level solutions.
- Have exceptional management experience in developing and executing commercial strategies, tactics, plans, processes, systems and programs to represent customer needs/perspectives.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills externally and internally.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 15+years of experience selling advertising or advertising-like services.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets and backgrounds
- Ability to navigate data and leverage analytics to make decisions
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Understanding of digital creative production, ad serving, cross-channel attribution, and media math
- Strive in matrix organization and comfortable of influencing key decisions without direct authority
