The EC2 Commercial Software Services Team is looking for a senior technical writer to create documentation, code samples, and technical guides on using .NET with AWS Services. If you have a strong .NET background and writing experience, this might be the perfect role for you to combine those skills.
Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Programmer Writer you will be constantly learning about new topics, and deepening your knowledge of existing topics. You will create and update online documentation. You will write code samples consistent with best practices. You will help guide and prioritize the content plan. You will collaborate with engineering teams to understand how a service works, and learn about its latest features. You will work with the .NET developer advocacy team to deliver the most relevant content to customers.
A day in the life
Day to day you will be
- researching how AWS services work
- writing documents about using AWS with .NET
- creating sample code
- keeping up to date with changes to .NET and C# and updating docs as needed
- working with service teams and managers to keep up with changes
- working with product managers to prioritize and schedule documentation deliverables

3+ years of experience writing content (docs, blogs, books, courseware), for a software developer audience.
3+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on .NET and C#.
1+ years of experience with AWS or another cloud provider.
Portfolio of existing content and source code examples.
Familiarity with writing for technical audiences.
Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
Familiarity with Markdown.
Familiarity with charting tools such as Draw.io or Lucid Chart.
For employees based in Colorado, this position starts at $125,800/year. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. The pay range for this position in Jersey City is $138,380 – 187,220 yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
