Located next to one of the world’s largest natural harbours, New York City’s five boroughs make up the most populous metropolitan area in the United States.

New York City is home to some of America’s greatest arts venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. All major American sports are represented by at least one New York team and the Broadway theatre scene is known throughout the world.

Manhattan’s Wall Street is the location of the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ, the world’s two largest stock exchanges by trading volume. 

New Headquarters: NYC and Arlington

Amazon is excited to announce that it has selected New York City and Arlington, Virginia as the locations for its new headquarters. Amazon will invest $5 billion and create more than 50,000 jobs across the two new headquarter locations, with more than 25,000 employees each in New York City and Arlington.

The new locations will join Amazon Seattle to form the company’s three headquarters in North America. In addition, Amazon has announced that it has selected Nashville as the location for a new Centre of Excellence for its Operations business, which is responsible for the company’s customer fulfilment, transportation, supply chain and other similar activities. More than 5,000 jobs will be created at the Operations Centre of Excellence in Nashville.

Hiring at the new headquarter locations will begin in 2019.
