About Berlin
A world city of culture, politics, media and science.
Berlin is the capital city and one of the 16 states of Germany. With a population of 3.5 million, it’s the country’s largest city and the seventh most populated urban area in the European Union. Home to renowned universities, research institutes, orchestras, museums and celebrities, as well as host of sporting events, it’s a global hub for culture, politics, media and science.
Not surprisingly, Berlin is also a popular tourist destination. Its urban settings and historical legacy boost its appeal for international film productions as well. Here you can make the most of a wealth of diverse festivals, architecture, nightlife and contemporary arts, along with strong transport networks and a high quality of living. At the same time, around a third of the city's area is made up of forests, parks, gardens, rivers and lakes, making it easy to escape from the pace of daily life.
Corporate Office & Customer Centre
The office in Berlin has evolved from a pure customer service centre to an important corporate office for Amazon’s German operations. It is the base of the Merchant Services teams, whose New Key Account Managers are responsible for identifying new merchant partnerships for Amazon Marketplace and whose Key Account Managers support existing partnerships.
Since May 2013, technology teams support the development of pioneering technologies for the cloud business of Amazon Web Services. This includes hypervisors, operating systems, management tools and other applications such as self-learning technologies that are applied to Amazon platforms.
In addition, further corporate support functions and the Amazon subsidiary Audible.de are located in Berlin.
