Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
This is the right role for someone who has experience working for or with an IT Services (ITS) and/or Global Systems Integrator (GSI) technology consulting firm, or a Fortune 1000 company. If you are a problem solver with broad technical skills, got hands-on experience working in a public cloud environment, and have the ability to drive technical conversations then this is the perfect role for you.
Working with GSI customers is a team effort that will require influence and coordination with many stakeholders. You should be just as comfortable talking storage and networking with the VP of Infrastructure or continuous deployment with the DevOps team, TCO with the CFO, and cloud strategy with the CIO. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

As a Solutions Architect, you will partner with customers, sales, and several other teams to lead crafting of highly flexible, and resilient architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of services. In collaboration with sales, you will help drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organisations understand best practices around advanced-based solutions. You will seek out opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broaden the use of the platform across customer organizations. You will utilize your ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

Key job responsibilities
. Clinical focus on migration and modernization of workloads to/on AWS to help customers realize the art of possible on AWS cloud including managed services and AI/ML
· Be a strategic Customer Advisor to enterprise customers in IT Services and GSI industry. Be a thought leader to build deep relationships with customers to become a trusted partner for their most critical workloads that support their digital transformation and journey to the cloud
· Support achievement of revenue objectives through the adoption and migration of applications, software, and services onto the platform in partnership with the sales team. Contribute to internal and customer-facing publications such as white-papers and blogs as a means of scaling your knowledge.
· Educate customers on the value proposition of cloud and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment. Act as a liaison between customers, engineering teams, and support to address customer needs.
. Invest time to become an expert in Generative AI space to help customers embrace and implement it successfully with AWS’ suite of Gen AI services
. Good understanding of Developer Productivity and Experience to our customers’ developer community be more productive with AWS services including Gen AI.
About the team
A team of high performing Solution Architects with diverse and strong technology backgrounds working together to help our ITS and GSI customers make the best of AWS services including Generative AI.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 14+ years of apps/infrastructure architecture, database architecture and app modernization with 5+ years of proven hands-on experience in core AWS services across compute, network, storage, databases, and some of the related managed services and ISVs/third party services.
- Experience working with ITS or GSI organizations or similar, providing architectural/tech guidance and support to their Field Sales/end customers with knowledge of various market segments, customer base and industry verticals.
- AWS Professional and/or Specialty certifications including specialization in one of modernization areas like containerization, serverless, cloud databases, or any other managed services.
